Texas License To Carry & Range Qualification

This is state required prerequisite for applying for the Texas License To Carry. NOTE: Qualification only students attend first two-hours only. The course includes classroom coverage of the License To Carry laws, the required shooting test in our convenient indoor range, and all of the required paperwork. This is a 5-hour course as required by state law. All participants must be 21 years of age to participate. This course does NOT teach you how to shoot.
THIS IS A WEST (Weapon Education Safety Training) ELIGIBLE class for court-ordered training.
QUALIFICATION ONLY STUDENTS NOTE: You will be attending the first two-hours of the course. You will be dismissed after the firearm safety classroom module (1 hour) and the qualification exercise (1 hour). Qualification only candidates will receive range fees, use of a semi-automatic pistol, 50 rounds of ammunition, a target, and certificate signatory. YOU MUST BRING TO CLASS YOUR PRINTED OUT FORM FROM YOUR ONLINE PROVIDER TO RECEIVE THE CERTIFICATION.
COURSE INCLUDES:
- 4 hours of classroom instruction and testing – included
- Use of a semi-automatic pistol – included
- 50 rounds of SAAMI certified newly manufactured ammunition – included
- Ear protection – included
- Eye Protection – included NOTE: Prescription eyeglasses will be acceptable for eye protection
- Range Qualification & Range fee at an indoor climate-controlled range – included
- B-27 Target – included
- Certificate of Completion (Form LTC-100) – included
COURSE DOES NOT INCLUDE:
- Fingerprints; As of March 1, 2011, all fingerprints MUST be taken by Identogo
- State of Texas LTC Application Fee paid to the Texas Department of Public Safety
WHAT YOU MUST PROVIDE: You must bring your valid Texas Driver's License or Texas Identification card.
Basics of Pistol Shooting - Instructor Led Training

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!
WE TEACH YOU TO BE SAFE WITH A PISTOL.
The Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience. NOTE: This class is the prerequisite to the NRA Instructor Basics of Pistol Shooting.
Course topics include:
- Firearm safety rules
- Safe operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols
- Ammunition knowledge and selection
- Pistol selection and safe storage practices
- Basic shooting fundamentals
- Pistol inspection and maintenance
- Marksmanship
- Shooting range safety
Additionally, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an Instructor by certified by the State of Texas and the NRA.
All Students will receive the following:
- Classroom materials and training
- Range fee
- Target
- Use of a pistol for target shooting on the range
- Ammunition for target shooting on the range
- Eye protection to use
- Ear protection to use
- NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook
- Take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination
- Receive a course completion certificate from the National Rifle Association

Students will learn the basic fundamentals of firearm safety, how to grip a pistol, and how to obtain a safety mindset. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to shoot a controlled group of shots; feel safe around firearms; and be able to go to the range safely by themselves. This is a one hour lesson with up to 4 persons maximum.
